COME BY THE COAST

There is both figurative and abstract ideas in my paintings which together build up composition, thoughts and associations which wander out and into each other. Within these frameworks anything can happen, like a a normal holiday picture from the beach but there is something odd, something that rubs.

The paintings are made with soft pastel and gesso on canvas. There is a certain freedom in drawing and it's exciting as an artist to explore two different paths in painting and still find many common denominators. It may be connected to the color, the size, the expression, but there is a dialogue even if it is without a story.

The exhibition "Come to the coast" is a poetic invitation to glance at the sea and reflect yourself in the horizon.
